BROCCOFLOWER
I was in Woolworths a few weeks back when I stumbled upon this hybrid vegetable – The Broccoflower. I've got a feeling it's been around for ages, I've just never seen it somehow. I must’ve spent a good couple of minutes just laughing at this veritable abomination. Two vegetable greats finally fused together…has science gone too far? I mean cloning sheep is one thing, but Broccoli and Cauliflower? When will these horticulturists learn to stop playing god.
I present to you, The Broccoflower:

(Sorry, the camera on my phone is shite)
I can hardly believe 4 weeks of second semester have already past, it’s amazing how quick this year has gone. Responsibility creeps closer every day. Is this a good thing? I don’t know, but I’m thinking probably not. Sure, not being so damn poor will be a welcomed change, but at what cost? 70 hour weeks, no holidays, minimal psychoactives? Perhaps this university caper isn’t so bad after all.
This semester gained momentum a lot faster than usual, there wasn’t even a cruisey first week back, though that’s mainly because I started my final year project this semester. The title is a bit of a mouthful: “Navigation and Localisation Algorithms for Autonomous Mobile Robots”. It isn’t exactly Mechatronics, but we’re able to choose projects from three different faculties. If you’re wondering what the hell the title means, the initial description of the project was to design and implement a robot tour guide (i.e. make a robot give visitors a tour of the faculty building/take them to the room they want to go to). Other units this semester:
- Mechanisms and Multibody Systems (crap, totally freaking crap. The bloody lecturer is another Russian and I can't get his accent out of my head. Everytime I read through lecture notes it's somehow in the same accent. PLANAAAAR MECHANISSSMM)
- Electromagnetics and Electromechanics (got phase?)
- Advanced Control Engineering (interesting topic, but bloody difficult)
One of my units has a lecture at the Physics building, I haven’t had many classes there since first year but I remembered there was always heaps of funny random scribbling on the benches. So I decided to jot down a few which I thought were good:
“I’m a banana”
“STFU NOOB”
“Dockers are bunch of wankers with anchors” <-- damn straight!
“Janiper loves men’s shampoo” <-- wtf?!
“Adam Holmes loves the cock” <-- huge capitals over the bench
“Fred failed an exam here 2005”…then underneath it: “Fred is not alone”
And my personal favourite:
“Inv-asian”
And what would a blog be without a few links? (Come to think of it, I guess it would be more of an actual blog).
Pseudo-powerarmour?
Warning, only read this if you have some interest in computer science
So harsh, yet so funny
Absolute gold
